318/365: November 14 “Swirly Blue Gel”

Don’t get me wrong, I love finding new ways to photograph things I’ve shot before. However when new ideas come along and I see objects in a new light I get especially excited. Today’s image is an example of that excitement.
A couple years ago my wife and son went on a trip and brought me back a souvenir. I’d never seen such a device, but it sits on my desk and I am constantly fascinated by the graceful fluidity as the gel moves from one compartment to another. I imagine it’s supposed to be some sort of timer.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my interpretation of it.
