365/365: December 31 “Last Sunset of the Year”

I thought since my first photo of the year (http://goo.gl/bZLe4) was of Hudson Bay Mountain, it would be only fitting that the last photo would involve the mountain somehow.

I drove up to the ski hill this afternoon an hour or so before the sun was supposed to set and waited. It gave me ample time to reflect on the past year and all that I’ve experienced in the past 365 days. The mountains on the other side of the valley as seen from the ski hill are a favourite thing of mine to photograph, and today I was pleased that the conditions were suitable (meaning there was no cloud cover preventing me from seeing the peaks).

I have some ideas in mind for what I can do with all these images, but for now I would like to remind you of my Custom Folios that I have available. 2012 Perpetual Calendar Preview

For those who like to keep all your major events/birthdays in one place, I’m pleased to present my very first perpetual calendar. Each month features a large photograph from in and around Smithers with ample room to write out the important dates in your life. The calendar pages are 12″ wide by 6″ tall, and I print them myself on heavy card-stock.You can preview the monthly pages below, and if you would like to purchase one, please contact the office and let me know how many you would like.

Please note that the tax is included in the price of $25 and the turnaround time from the moment you order one till it’s ready to be delivered is only a matter of a couple of days depending on when you order during the week.

Having wanted to try this for weeks and weeks, I finally decided tonight was the night. I watched a video from Canon where they did some high speed photography of paint drops, and this is my low-tech version of it. I can tell from my experiments tonight I have lots to learn, but nonetheless it was a fun and informative experience.
